Pune: College Student from Thergaon Died After Drowning in Kasarsai Dam
Pune: Every year, a number of drowning incidents are reported in the city with the onset of the monsoon. This year, too, many cases of drowning took place. A few days ago, an entire family was drowned after they went into Bhushi Dam. Yesterday, Mumbai-based reel-star Anvi Kamdar died after falling into a gorge while making a video in Maharashtra’s Raigad district.
A similar incident took place in the Kasarsai dam, where one college-going student died after being drowned in the dam. The deceased student has been identified as Sarang Ramchandra Dolse (age 19), and he has been studying at M.M. College in Thergaon.
As per the information, five students studying at M.M. College went to Kasarsai Dam, skipping the college lectures. After that, all five students entered the water and started swimming. Unable to understand the depth of the water, Sarang went into the middle of the dam and started drowning.
Seeing him drown, his friends cried for help. Immediately, the citizens of the village informed the Shirgaon Parandwadi police about the incident. After that, the police rushed to the spot.
Thereafter, the police informed the wildlife guard, Maval, and the Shivdurg rescue team in Lonavala. The rescue team immediately found the student’s body. But it was too late. Till then, he died by drowning in water. His body was taken out by the rescue team.
After the incident, Sarang’s parents were contacted by police and informed about the incident. A grief is being expressed in the area after the incident.
