Pune: Criticism on Sharad Pawar Will Damage Prospects of Winning Chances of Mahayuti Coalition in the Upcoming Assembly Election: Vilas Lande
Pune: Two days ago, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the BJP Party activists meeting in Pune’s Balewadi, in which he criticised the president of the NCP-SP party, Sharad Pawar. On this, various reactions erupted in the state from various leaders. Amidst all this, Vilas Lande, a former MLA and the leader of the NCP, advised the BJP to denounce such statements about a stalwart leader.
What did Amit Shah say?
While addressing the party activists of the BJP party in the run-up to the state legislative assembly elections, Amit Shah criticised Sharad Pawar as one of the most corrupt leaders of the country. He also accused Sharad Pawar of institutionalising corruption in the country. In response to this criticism, a lot of party activists and leaders of the NCP Party expressed their resentment.
Vilas Lande, the former MLA of Bhosari Legislative Assembly constituency, said that such provocative and insulting statements about Sharad Pawar will damage the Mahayuti coalition in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections, and the leaders of the BJP must desist from making any such statements about Sharad Pawar. He further said that he is going to write a letter to the central working committee on this.
Vilas Lande said, “Sharad Pawar is a senior leader in the country. To make a comment on such a personality will damage the coalition government in the upcoming state assembly election.” Giving reference to Modi’s criticism, Lande said, “In the election campaigning for the Lok Sabha election, PM Narendra Modi labelled Sharad Pawar as a ‘Wandering Soul’. It impacted the result of the Lok Sabha election in the state.”
He further said, “Sharad Pawar is like God for all of us. Hence, any negative comment on him will not go well with people and party workers like him. People like me stand where we are today because of Sharad Pawar. Therefore, I will write a letter to the central BJP working committee for refraining from making such statements on Sharad Pawar in the future.”
