Separate Road Accidents Claim Three Lives in Pune
Pune: The series of shocking accidents continues in Pune. In recent instances, three individuals have lost their lives, including one old woman, in three separate accident cases in Pune city.
In the first instance, a 73-year-old lady, Shantabai Kerba Modak, was hit by a speeding car on July 3, when she was standing in front of her house. After the incident, a car driver immediately fled from the scene. Modak received major injuries in this accident and was subsequently died during the treatment. A case has been registered against the car driver at the Loni Kalbhor police station. A police sub-inspector, Tarte, is investigating the matter.
In the second accident case, a speeding tempo struck a pedestrian on Pune-Solapur road on Sunday morning. The identity of the deceased individual has not been confirmed yet. A tempo driver was booked in this case after Police Naik Mahesh Kare lodged a complaint at Loni Kalbhor police station. Police sub-inspector Birajdar is conducting further investigation into the case.
Lastly, a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision with a car on the Mumbai-Bangalore bypass. The pedestrian has not been identified. The pedestrian sustained serious head injuries and is being treated at a nearby hospital. In this case, a complaint has been registered against the car driver, Preetvardhan Diwakar Sharma (age 24, resident of Godrej Society, Hinjewadi). Police Naik Santosh Shende has filed a complaint at Sinhagad Road Police Station. Police Constable Kumbhar is investigating the matter.
