Pune: Opposition is spreading a fake narrative: Murlidhar Mohol
New Delhi: Union Minister of State Murlidhar Mohol has replied to the criticism launched by the opposition in Maharashtra that nothing has been given to Maharashtra in the Union Budget.
He said, “Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman mentioned two states in her budget speech. It does not mean that other states did not get anything. A robust allocation has been made for Maharashtra in the Union Budget 2024-25. It is a fake narrative that Maharashtra has got nothing. Nobody will buy their argument.”
He said, “The opposition’s agenda is to set a fake narrative. The State, including Pune, has been given ample funds for various schemes. Irrigation projects in Vidarbha and Marathwada, rural road development, economic corridor and agriculture projects are some examples. Funds have been allocated for various projects, including Mumbai Urban Transport Project, Mumbai-Pune, Nagpur Metro, Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, MMR Green Mobility and funds for river projects in Pune and Nagpur.
Exposing the opposition claims, Mohol said, “The Modi government has granted funds amounting to Rs 10.05 lakh crore to Maharashtra in the past decade. The Railway Budget will also ensure Rs 15,500 crore for the State. It is 13 times more than what the Congress government gave to Maharashtra.”
