Rainfall has not lessened in the past few days. Water has been released into rivers, which has resulted in floods in low-lying areas. Though the administration is helping citizens, they suffered heavy damages in the floods.

CM Shinde met citizens to know their problems. He interacted with flood-affected people at the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Municipal School in Sangvi. Citizens presented their issues before the Chief Minister.

Following a continuous discharge from the Pavana Dam, societies along the Pavana, Mula and Indrayani rivers were flooded. The civic body surveyed the areas and shifted residents from the risky areas to their relatives’ houses and to temporary shelters.

CM Shinde’s itinerary

The Chief Minister arrived at the Pune Airport at 12.30 pm. He travelled to Old Sangvi to interact with the flood-affected people. Later, he would visit Patil Estate, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Primary School and PMC colony in Wakdewadi in Shivajinagar. Residents in the Sinhagad Road area suffered heavy damages in last week’s floods. He would meet residents of Ekta Nagari there. Later, he would leave for Mumbai by plane.
