Pune: A surprising twist has come to the Honey-Trap case, in which the involvement of the Police Sub Inspector (PSI) of the Pune Police Force was revealed. The concerned PSI has been working at the Vishrambaug police station. However, after he was booked in the case, he absconded.

In this case, a complaint was lodged against PSI Kashinath Ubhe (55). Ubhe was booked in the defrauding case of an elder man in the Honey Trap case. Along with PSI Kashinath Ubhe, three women, who have been identified as Avantika Sachin Sonwane (35), Poonam Sanjay Patil (40), and Arti Sanjay Gaikwad (58), were booked. All three accused women are residents of Kothrud.

Amongst these three women, Poonam Patil was already booked at Shahupuri Police Station in Kolhapur for swindling the doctor by extorting 50 lakh rupees from him.

It is suspected that this gang has robbed many people by trapping them in a honey trap. An investigation is being conducted in that regard. A woman lured an elderly man from the Kothrud area by taking him to a hotel. After that, the man was beaten by a woman who masqueraded as a member of the Women’s Rights Commission.

Surprisingly, the woman threatened to file a false case of rape and demanded an extortion of five lakh rupees from the doctor. The woman then took Rs 20,000 in cash and a phone from the doctor. This incident took place on July 29 at a hotel on Lakshmi Road. In this case, a complaint was registered against four people, including three women.

After that, PSI Manoj Barure started an investigation into the case. He then checked the Aadhar card of the accused woman, which she submitted at the hotel counter. Accordingly, police arrested Avantika Sonwane, Poonam Patil, and Arti Gaikwad.

Further in the police investigation, police found one car on the hotel premises. In the subsequent police investigation, police found that the car was being used by PSI Kashinath Ubhe. After that, it was revealed that Ubhe was also involved in the case. Subsequently, police lodged a complaint against Ubhe. However, he has been at large since then.
