Pune: Workers of the Rajgad Taluka Youth Congress were booked for throwing ink at a junior engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) and expressed their displeasure. They protested the inaction by the department in repairing a road in a remote area in the taluka.

MLA Sangram Thopte had instructed PWD officials to repair Bhatti Kind to Kelad Road in the remote area of Rajgad taluka. However, nothing was done. People living in the area were finding it difficult to commute due to the bad road, alleged the Youth Congress workers.

The complainant has been identified as Saiprasad Dineshrao Mangilwar (34), junior engineer, PWD, Velhe, a resident of Ambegaon Budruk, Pune, hailing from Deglur, district Nanded. The incident took place at around 1 pm on Monday (August 5) in the PWD office, Velhe.

According to the details, a coordination committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of MLA Sangram Thopte at the Panchayat Samiti Auditorium on July 26.
