Pune: The Someshwar Foundation organised the ‘Karyasmrat Mofat Maha-Arogya Shibir’ to mark the birth anniversary of former MLA the late Vinayak Nimhan at 36 places in three phases during July 22-August 4.

The main camp was held at the Government Agriculture College Grounds, in Sinchan Nagar, Shivajinagar on Sunday (August 4).

As many as 68,248 patients benefited during the camp. Surgeries advised to patients will be completed next month, said organiser Sunny Nimhan. The break-up of the patients who took various treatments is as follows: Ayush section – 3,560, disabled patient assistive devices and prosthesis – 700, general medicine – 6,533, cardiovascular diseases – 1,500, ailments of respiratory tract – 6,205, geriatrics – 6,020, dermatology – 6,008, psychiatry – 351, genetic disorders – 200, brain disorders – 1,251, ENT – 8,205, ophthalmology – 10,021, general surgery – 6,006, obesity – 350, plastic surgery – 750, urology – 1,100, oncology – 550, osteopath – 1,009, physiotherapy – 752, paediatrics – 2,022, obstetrics & gynaecology – 2,150, dentistry – 3,005. Patients queued up for the camp despite heavy rains.

Doctors from 16 specialty and eight super-specialty hospitals checked the patients. All-party politicians, health experts, current and former ministers, MPs and MLAs, social workers visited the camp and extended good wishes.
