Pune: 18-Year-Old Girl Commits Suicide Due to Mental Distress Over Loan Repayment in Pune
Pune: In a tragic incident in Pune’s Moshi area at Adarsh Nagar, 18-year-old Payal Machhindra Kokate ended her life on July 31, 2024, after facing severe mental distress over repaying a loan.
The accused, Ram Kokane, a resident of Ajnawale in Junnar, Pune, allegedly harassed her when she demanded her money back, leading her to take this extreme step. Following a complaint by her mother, Nanda Machhindra Kokate, on August 5, a case was filed at MIDC Bhosri police station.
According to the police, Payal gave money to Kokane and was subjected to harassment and mental torture when she asked for its return. Due to this harassment, she hanged herself at home.
