Pune: ACB Red-Handedly Caught Livestock Inspector While Accepting Bribery

Pune: A livestock inspector was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau for taking a bribe of Rs. 5 thousand to include someone else’s name in the government’s milch cow/buffalo allotment scheme. The livestock inspector was taking a bribe of Rs 5 thousand when he was caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

The arrested official has been identified as Bandu Baban Deokar (age 42), and he is a resident of Kude Budruk, Taluka Khed.

The complainant had submitted an online application to avail himself of the benefit of the Maharashtra State-Level Scheme for Distribution of Milch Cows or Buffaloes. To include the plaintiff’s name in the final list of the beneficiaries’, the livestock inspector demanded a bribe of Rs 7 thousand from the complainant.

After that, the plaintiff lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau. His complaint was verified on July 31, August 1, and 5. In the investigation, police found that Bandu Deokar demanded Rs 5 thousand as a compromise. Accordingly, the Anti-Corruption Bureau laid a trap at the Animal Medical Hospital in Kude Budruk on Tuesday and caught Bandu Deokar red-handedly while accepting Rs 5 thousand from the complainant.

This action was taken under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Amol Tambe and Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Sheetal Janve. A case has been registered at Khed police station, and police inspector Rupesh Jadhav is investigating further into the case.
