After being alerted, the Forest Department and the Fire Brigade teams arrived at the spot and launched a search for the wild animal.

The premises have a thicket. The Indrayani river flows along Vadgaon Shinde village. There is a possibility that the leopard entered the area from the other side of the bank. The two squads were searching for the feline.

The animal could not be traced, said Fire Brigade Centre Chief Subhas Jadhav.
