Spree of Thefts in Pune: Thieves Target Multiple Homes Across the City
Pune: A series of thefts have struck Pune, with thieves attempting to break into four homes in the same society in Karve Nagar. The most significant loss occurred at a senior citizen’s residence, where valuables worth Rs 1.46 lakh were stolen. Similar incidents were reported in the Market Yard and Bharti Vidyapeeth areas.
On Tuesday, thieves targeted the home of a senior citizen living in Parvati Apartment, Karve Nagar. The culprits managed to break into the apartment and steal gold jewellery valued at Rs 1.46 lakh. The victim has since filed a complaint with Alankar Police Station, and Assistant Police Inspector Pawar is leading the investigation.
In a separate incident, thieves broke the lock of a flat in Bhimale Garden, Market Yard, and made off with gold ornaments worth Rs 2.10 lakh. The victim, a resident of Archana Park Society, had left her home locked on Tuesday morning. When she returned, she discovered that the lock had been broken and the thieves had ransacked the house, stealing her valuables. A complaint has been lodged at Market Yard Police Station, and Police Sub-Inspector Rathod is handling the investigation.
Another theft occurred in the Ambegaon area, where thieves broke into a flat in the Torna complex. The thieves stole cash and jewellery worth Rs 94,000. The resident has filed a complaint at Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station, with Police Constable Gore investigating the case.
These incidents have raised concerns among residents about the increasing number of thefts in Pune.
