Pune: Amid Assembly Election Buzz, Shiv Sena Activists Erect Banners in Yerawada Demanding Sushma Andhare’s Candidature from Vadgaon Sheri

Pune : After the results of the Lok Sabha elections, the winds of the upcoming assembly election have started blowing in the state. In this, almost all the political parties have started preparing for the assembly election. Some parties have even declared their candidates from some constituencies.

Amidst all this, the political banners in Pune’s Yerawada area have caught everyone’s attention. Through these banners, the Shiv Sena party activists and officials demanded the candidature of Sushma Andhare, the firebrand woman leader of Shiv Sena, from Vadgaon Sheri assembly constituency. Flexes with the text ‘Highly educated, fearless, and strong personality is the only best option for the overall development of Vadgaon Sheri Constituency’ have been placed in many areas.

Currently, Sunil Tingre of the NCP is the MLA from the Vadgaon Sheri constituency. Therefore, it is expected that a political tug-off could be erupted between the Shiv Sena (UBT) and the NCP (SP) parties over this seat at the time of seat sharing.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena party officials demanded three constituencies of Hadapsar, Vadgaon Sheri, and Kothrud out of 8 seats to contest from Pune to Mahavikas Aghadi. Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether the NCP would leave the Vadgaon Sheri constituency to the Shiv Sena (UBT) group, and if yes, then whether Sushma Andhare will contest from Vadgaon Sheri or not.

While speaking on the flex, Anand Goyal, the Deputy Chief of Pune City of the Shiv Sena (UBT) Group, said, “The Shiv Sena (UBT) Party has a lot of strength in Pune city and district. Therefore, all office bearers and party activists are demanding that the party should give an opportunity to Shiv Sena leader Sushma Andhare to contest from Vadgaon Sheri assembly constituency in Pune city in the upcoming assembly elections.”

“In the last one and a half years, Sushma Andhare has worked to bust the Sassoon hospital drug case to the Kalyani Nagar accident incident. Therefore, taking into consideration the overall situation, we are demanding that party leadership should give candidature to Sushma Andhare from Vadgaon Sheri,” Goyal added. He also expressed confidence that Sushma Andhare will be elected with huge votes in this election.
