Pune: Start services at Baner hospital to serve patients, says Amol Balwadkar; warns of agitation (Video)

Pune: A big hospital was built over 40,000-sq ft area in Baner in 2019. BJP leader Amol Balwadkar, in the capacity of Chairman, City Improvement Committee, took efforts for building the facility.
The hospital is supposed to provide major relief for poor and needy patients from the Baner area. However, the facility has not been thrown open to citizens due to neglect by the civic administration. Citizens are inconvenienced. Area residents are forced to visit hospitals at far-off places.
If a patient is admitted to a private hospital in an emergency situation, they have to shell out Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh for treatment. People living on daily wages cannot afford such huge charges. The hospital in Baner was built to cater to poor people. The main proposal was approved but the administration is neglecting it.
Recently, a young girl had to be hospitalised and needed an ambulance. Amol Balwadkar not only provided an ambulance but also helped her by paying the hospital bill. Many people are worried about their health. But they cannot afford expensive treatment cost.
Amol Balwadkar has warned of an agitation if the civic administration fails to open the hospital in Baner.
