Pune: Youths avenges friend’s murder by opening social media account in girl’s name
Pune: A youth was attacked with sickles on Sinhagad Road on Wednesday morning and was seriously injured. Previous enmity is said to be the cause behind the assault.
The injured youth has been identified as Sagar Chavan. A video clip of the incident went viral on social media.
According to the details, two groups clashed over a petty reason in Dahanukar Colony in May this year. A youth was attacked with a sickle then. Later, he died. The victim was identified as Shrinivas Vatsalwar. Sagar was among those who had attacked the deceased.
The social media girlfriend called Sagar in Kirkatwadi on Wednesday. As Sagar came to the area, he was attacked and was seriously injured. His health was stated to be critical.
How was the conspiracy hatched?
The accused hatched a conspiracy. They opened a fake account two months ago in the name of the girl. Many messages were sent to Sagar through this account. He fell in love with the ‘girl’ after chatting daily with her.
He did not suspect that the accused would be running the social media account. The ‘girl’ invited Sagar to meet ‘her’. As Sagar arrived at the predetermined spot, he was assaulted.
