Ajit Pawar is our group’s captain, he cannot leave battlefield: Chhagan Bhujbal

Nashik: The Lok Sabha election results 2024 answered the question who holds sway over the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency. NCP (SP) candidate and sitting MP Supriya Sule defeated NCP (AP) candidate Sunetra Pawar.

Sunetra Pawar’s defeat was a big shock for Ajit Pawar. Sule got the highest lead from the Baramati Assembly seat. This is likely to affect the outcome of the State Assembly election. Therefore, Ajit Pawar has expressed his sadness.

He said, “I am 65 now. I am content. Jitha pikta, thitha vikat nasta (It is hard to sell something which is available in abundance locally). Once Baramatikars should get an MLA other than me. Then they should compare my political career from 1992 to 2024 with the new MLA. I never took a different stance. Still, you know what happened during the Lok Sabha poll. If this is to repeat in the assembly elections, then let it be a secret.”

This led to talks that Ajit Pawar will not contest the assembly poll from Baramati. Pawar’s colleague and State Minister Chhagan Bhujbal has reacted to this. Bhujbal said, “Ajit Pawar is the captain of our group. He cannot leave the battle in between. He will definitely contest the election. He only expressed his feelings about the Lok Sabha result.”
