Sharad Pawar comments on rebellion in NCP, Ajit Pawar’s decision
Mumbai: NCP (SP) President Sharad Pawar re-organised his party and boosted the morale of office-bearers and workers after a split in the NCP. Ajit Pawar took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister after leaving Sharad Pawar, along with 40 MLAs.
Later, the NCP (SP) won eight out of 10 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Now, many who left Sharad Pawar are joining him again. Earlier, he might have felt a bit subdued but now, he is touring the State and revitalising his party apparatus to win the State Assembly elections.
While speaking to the media, Sharad Pawar commented on the rebellion and Ajit Pawar’s decision to join the government. He said, “It was not a shock for me but I felt restless. Ajit Pawar did not leave alone but took along 25-30 MLAs. I had worked for their win in the elections by visiting their constituencies and giving speeches. I groomed them in the past decade. Ajit Pawar was one of them.
“I felt disturbed as they joined the people, whom they had fought against. Their moves were not aligned with commitments they made to the people. Therefore, I felt a bit restive.”
