Pune: President Murmu’s office takes note of potholed roads in Pun, Administration startled; PMC asked to repair roads before Modi’s visit
Pune: The State Administration is in a tight spot after the First Citizens and President Droupadi Murmu’s office expressed displeasure over potholes in Pune.
Murmu was on a visit to the city on September 2 and 3. She was staying at Raj Bhavan. She visited various places in the city for various programmes, during which her convoy experienced the bad condition of roads in the city. It is learnt that the President’s office has conveyed their displeasure to the Pune Police over the issue.
Meanwhile, the Pune Police have written a letter to the Municipal Commissioner to fill potholes before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city on September 26.
The condition of many roads in the city has become pathetic after rains. This is leading to congestion in many areas and commuters are fed up with travel in the city. The Shivajinagar to Hinjawadi Metro route work is underway on Ganeshkhind Road. Commuters are facing traffic issues on this patch of the road. The road condition has not improved in spite of many joint meetings of the PMRDA, the PMC and the police.
