Pune: An agitation was launched under the leadership of NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule in front of the District Collectorate on Thursday. She alleged that funds are not granted through the District Planning Committee (DPC) and works recommended by people’s representatives are rejected.

MLA Ashok Pawar, MLA Sanjay Jagtap and MLA Sangram Thopte also participated in the stir. Slogans were raised against the State Government.

Sule said, “Many parties came to power till date in the State. But there was no discrimination in the distribution of funds to the ruling and opposition party representatives. But the DPC stopped providing funds to opposition party MLAs for the past several months. Moreover, works recommended by them are also not done.

“This is clearly a violation of constitutional provisions by the ruling parties. We are agitating to condemn the style of functioning of the government.”

She indirectly targeted District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar.
