Individual Killed Village Priest Over Suspicion of Black Magic in Hatave Village; Police Solved Murder, Detained Accused
Pune :
Police have successfully uncovered an intricate murder case that was initially staged to appear as an accident. In this case, police have arrested an individual who has done this murder.
The identity of the deceased individual is Ganpat Genaba Khutwad (age 52, a resident of Hatave, Taluka Bhor). Police informed that Ganpat Khutwad was a local priest in the village temple, and he also runs a rationing shop in the Hatave village. In this regard, the police have arrested Swapnil Dyanoba Khutwad (age 30, a resident of Hatave, Taluka Bhor) for killing Ganpat Khutwad.
On September 23, Ganpat Khutwad’s dead body was found in the riverbed near Gunjawani river bridge. His bike was also lying there in damaged condition. Initially, police thought that it was a mere accident. However, after the body was taken out from the river, police noticed an injury on Ganpat’s head.
After that, the Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar of the Local Crime Branch grew suspicious, considering the possibility of it being a murder. After collecting the primary information in this case, he learnt that the native village man, Swapnil Khutwad, had disputes with Ganpat, and the day before Ganpat’s murder, Swapnil followed him towards Nasrapur.
Further, police also learnt that Swapnil chased Ganpat Khutwad in the night around 10.30 p.m. while coming from Nasrapur to Hatave village. Accordingly, Khed Shivapur police detained Swapnil Khutwad and enquired to him about the case, but he was giving evasive answers to police. After that, the local crime branch Police Sub-Inspector Abhijit Sawant and Police Inspector of Rajgad police station Rajendra Gawali took him into confidence and interrogated him.
At that time, he confessed to the police officers of killing Ganpat Khutwad. Ganpat Khutwad was a local priest, and Swapnil thought that Ganpat had done some black magic on him, because of which his financial situation was not developing. Over this misconception, he chased Ganpat Khutwad on the night of September 23 and killed him. Police have arrested Swapnil Khutwad and are investigating further into the case.
