Pune Police Announces Rs 10 Lakh Reward for Information on Bopdev Ghat Gang Rape Accused, Turns to AI Technology for Investigation

After the Pune Police did not succeed in getting the information about the three individuals who raped the young woman in Bopdev Ghat, now the Pune Police has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to the person providing information about the accused. Further, police also informed that they are getting the help of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to track down the accused.
On last Thursday, a young girl had gone with her friend to Bopdev Ghat. At that time, while coming in the night at 11 p.m., three accused individuals tied her friend to the adjacent tree and raped the girl one by one. The police came to know about this incident at 5 a.m. on Friday. Since then, the crime branch has been searching for the accused.
In this regard, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma said, “A reward of 10 lakh rupees will be given to those who give information about the accused. His name will also be kept secret.”
He further informed that information and CCTV footage of 3000 mobile phone holders who travelled through Bopdev Ghat during this incident have been collected. This data is being technically analysed with the help of AI technology. The accused are being searched in Solapur and other districts along with Pune.
Meanwhile, the police dog unit searched the spot and found the bamboo used by the accused and blood. Sharma said that blood samples and other materials have been seized by the police in this case and sent to the forensic laboratory for examination.
