Pune: Chandan Nagar Police Nab Young Woman and Minor for Stealing Gold and Cash from Open Houses

Chandan Nagar Police have apprehended a young woman who was entering into the people’s house under the guise of begging to steal gold jewellery and cash. Police have also taken into custody her minor accomplice, who participated in the theft alongside the woman. In this, the police recovered 52 tolas of gold jewellery valued at 35 lakh rupees, along with 26 thousand rupees in cash and a motor worth 5.5 lakh rupees, totalling 40 lakh 76 thousand rupees from them.
The name of the arrested girl is Milli Deepak Pawar (age 20), a resident of Aadgaon Naka, Panchavati, Nashik. Milli and her minor accomplice found the door of a house open in the Chandan Nagar area on Nagar Road. Police informed that the two women were inspecting houses in the Chandan Nagar area under the pretence of begging. Taking advantage of the open door, the two girls stole jewellery from the house. After that, Milli and her minor companions fled from the area.
Since then, the Chandan Nagar police have been investigating the case. Meanwhile, Police constable Mahesh Nanekar of the investigation team got the information that the young woman who had stolen the jewellery and her minor accomplice were in the Devachi Alandi area. After that, the police team laid a trap and caught both of them. During interrogation, both confessed that they committed theft in the Khadak and Chandan Nagar areas.
This action was taken by the team of Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Chavan, Crime Branch Police Inspector Anil Mane, Assistant Inspector Siddhanath Khandekar, Mahesh Nanekar, Sachin Randive, Shivaji Dhande, Prafulla More, Sachin Patil, Vikas Kadam, Amol Jadhav, Shekhar Shinde, Namdev Gadadare, Suraj Jadhav, Srikant Kodre, Dnyanoba Lahane, Sheetal Wankhede, Puja Dahale, and Manisha Pawar under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav.
Following their arrest, police revealed that Milli Pawar and her minor accomplice roamed around various areas of the city pretending to beg. They took advantage of open doors to enter homes and steal valuables. Recently, they had stolen items in the timber market area of Bhawani Peth, as well as 52 tolas of gold ornaments and cash from a residence in Chandan Nagar.
