Pune: Former Bhosari MLA Vilas Lande stays away from Ajit Pawar’s tour, visits Sharad Pawar
Pimpri: Former NCP MLA Vilas Lande was unhappy as he was denied the NCP (AP) ticket for the Shirur Lok Sabha seat. Political circles are abuzz with the talk that Lande may quit the NCP (AP) and join the NCP (SP).
Lande was absent during Ajit Pawar’s visit to Bhosari on Wednesday (October 9). It is said that he is in touch with Sharad Pawar. His absence from Ajit Pawar’s tour is a confirmation of his joining the Sharad Pawar faction.
Sharad Pawar, during a programme in Indapur recently, indicated that many former party leaders will join the party again.
Local youth leader Ajit Gavhane, who recently left the NCP (AP) and joined the NCP (SP), said that Vilas Lande would work for the NCP (SP). Lande is Gavhane’s mentor.
Lande earlier represented Haveli and Bhosari assembly segments. He had to taste defeat twice from Bhosari. BJP MLA Mahesh Landge defeated him. After a split in the NCP, Lande preferred the leadership of Ajit Pawar. But he was unhappy as the party denied him the Shirur Lok Sabha ticket.
