Pune: Risky Road Crossing Claims Life in Kothrud: 23-Year-Old Girl Killed in Accident While Crossing Divider
Pune: Many a times, people chose to cross the road by climbing the big dividers to avoid taking a long route. However, it is very risky and may cause death sometimes. A similar incident took place in Kothrud today, where a 23-year-old girl lost her lift after being hit by a speeding concrete mixer vehicle.
The deceased girl has been identified as Aarti Suresh Manwane (age 23, a resident of Erande Hostel, Bhelke Nagar, Kothrud). As per the police information, Aarti is an original native of the Amravati district of Maharashtra.
Today morning, Aarti was attempting to cross the road by climbing on the high divider in front of the Sutar bus stand. At that time, a speeding concrete mixer dumper was coming towards Karve statue from Dahanukar Colony. Unfortunately, the truck hit Aarti while crossing over the divider.
After being hit by a speeding vehicle, Aarti fell down of the divider and died after the dumper passed over her body. Shockingly, the vehicle driver stopped his dumper after travelling some distance and fled from the scene. After getting the information of the incident, Alankar Police rushed to the scene and ordered an investigation into the case.
