Pune Police Arrest Two Gangsters from Gaja Marne Gang For Violating Tadipar Order
Pune:
Unit 3 of the Police Crime Branch has apprehended two gangsters from the Gajanan Marne gang who were illegally present in the city despite being declared tadipar from Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad, and Pune district for a period of two years.
The first accused in this case has been identified as Abhijit alias Chowkya Tukaram Yelwande (age 26, a resident of Jadhav Chawl, near Kakade Palace, Karve Nagar). Abhijit Yelwande is a member of the Gajanan Marne gang.
During the 2017 municipal elections, the Pune police declared 18 people, including members of the Gajanan Marne gang, as tadipar. In this, Abhijit Yelwande was also included. He was declared tadipar for the second time from Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad, and Pune district for 2 years from August 28, 2024, by Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam. Despite this, Yelwande had come to the city, breaking the tadipar law.
He was found in Warje Malwadi when police Ammaldar Pratik More and Ganesh Shinde were looking for the tadipar accused in the city. The police detained Yelwande and handed him over to Warje Malwadi police for further action.
Further, the police also arrested another tadipar accused, Khandu alias Paddy Maruti Mhetre (age 22, a resident of Shivkrupa Apartment, Happy Colony, Vadgaon Budruk, Sinhagad Road) for violating the tadipar rule.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam had declared him tadipar from Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad, and Pune district for 2 years from June 9, 2024. During the regular examination, the Police Constable Ganesh Sutar and Vinod Jadhav found Khandu Mhetre at Shivkrupa Apartment. Accordingly, the police detained him and handed him over to the Sinhagad Road Police Station.
This action has been taken by Senior Police Inspector Rangrao Pawar and his colleagues from Unit Three under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingle and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ganesh Ingle.
