Pune: Candidates in the State Assembly elections from various parties did not want to waste time during Diwali as they would get less than two weeks for actual campaigning.

Campaign methods have changed as it would be difficult to mobilise people for programmes such as public rallies, walkathons, contact tours and Haldi-Kunku for women.

As a part of the changed campaign method, NCP (SP) candidate from Parvati Ashwini Kadam held a dialogue through her programme ‘Pahatech Samvad’ with citizens at Taljai Tekdi.

Kadam said, “Though the Marathi word, ’samvad’ is small, it is powerful. Therefore, my efforts have been to hold a dialogue with the people. Earlier, we interacted with citizens through ‘Parvati Samvad’.

“Through a dialogue, I come know about citizens’ problems and get energy to solve them. Therefore, I met people through ‘Pahatecha Samvad’ early in the morning when people feel refreshed after a walk.”
