Pune: Police Detained Two Individuals for Smuggling Illegal Ganja Through ST Bus in Khadki

Acting on the accurate intelligence, the Khadki Police have intercepted a ST bus that was coming from Shirpur at the Church Chowk in Khadki and arrested two people who were illegally carrying ganja from the public transport vehicle to Goa.
In this action, the police have arrested two individuals, Zabir Bhikan Khatik (age 32, a resident of Waghadi, Shirpur Taluka, Dhule district) and Suhel Ali Zahir Ali Shah (age 26, a resident of Chopda, Jalgaon). From them, the police have seized 10 kg 610 gram ganja worth 1 lakh 59 thousand 150 rupees.
During the patrolling in the Diwali festival, the Police Ammaldar of Khadki Police Station, Hrishikesh Dighe, received a tip-off, suggesting that two individuals were smuggling ganja from the ST bus from Shirpur. Accordingly, police tracked the bus and set up a trap on the old Mumbai-Pune highway. The police stopped the bus coming from Shirpur and detained two individuals after finding ganja in one of their pack boxes.
During the police investigation, the accused confessed that they were smuggling these ganja and were intending to sell them later in Goa. They further confessed that to avoid suspicion by police, they chose the public transport bus instead of the private vehicle.
This action was taken by the team of Senior Police Inspector of Khadki Police Station Satish Jagdale, Crime Inspector Gajanan Chormale, Police Sub-Inspector Anna Gunjal, Police Enforcement Officer Hrishikesh Dighe, Sandesh Nikalje, Pratap Kedari, and Ashish Pawar under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav and Assistant Commissioner of Police Anuja Deshmane.
