Catchy slogans in Marathi such as ‘Tai ahe ka gharat, tutari aliya darat’ are being raised. Poll campaign could not pick up momentum due to Diwali for 4-5 days. Now, it is in full swing in the Vadgaon Sheri segment.
Pathare launched his poll campaign by visiting voters at their houses. On Tuesday morning (November 5), an election ‘Dindi’ was staged. Many young and old people wore Warkari attire, played Taal-Mrudung and blew the trumpet led by Bapusaheb Pathare.
The fight in the segment is between NCP (SP) candidate Pathare and sitting NCP (AP) MLA Sunil Tingre, whose candidature was announced late. But he also started the poll campaign. There will be a neck-in-neck fight in the segment.
Campaign across the State
Most of the candidates in the State have set up their election offices. They are visiting voters personally and seeking their support. The scenario became clear after the last date of withdrawal on November 4. Candidates now know who could be their nearest rival. The actual campaign has begun.
During Diwali, candidates attended various functions and networked with their voters. From Monday (November 4), they started door-to-door visits. They have also created groups on social media to reach out to voters.
