Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Bhaskar Jadhav, who walked out of the State Assembly alleging that he was not allowed to present his views in the House, has been appointed as the parliamentary party leader in the State Assembly.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) has the highest number of seats in the MVA. However, the tally of the three MVA alliance partners is not enough to get the Leader of Opposition post in the Assembly. Jadhav commented on the situation.

Jadhav said, “We will demand the Leader of Opposition post after the new government swears in. I did not expect that the party would appoint me the parliamentary party leader. I assume that the entire State has congratulated me and I thank you all.

“I am from the rural area. I am not used to city life. It is easier for a citizen to visit Mantralaya. I insisted that the post should be given to a person staying in Mumbai and I suggested Aditya Thackeray’s name. But the party President named me. I accepted it as per his instruction.

“We will approach the new government after the Chief Minister and the Speaker are sworn in and will demand the Leader of Opposition post.”
