Government Filed Application in Court, Seeking Trial Against Nine Accused in Kalyani Nagar Accident Evidence Tampering

The government has filed an application in the court seeking to frame charges and initiate a trial against nine accused in the Kalyani Nagar accident case for altering the blood samples of a minor and destroying evidence. In this case, the special public prosecutor, Shishir Hire, has submitted an application in the court of special judge U.M. Mudholkar, seeking the framing of charges against all the accused.
An application has been filed against the boy’s father, construction businessman Vishal Surendrakumar Agarwal, the boy’s mother Shivani Agarwal (both residing at Bungalow No. 1, Brahma Suncity, Vadgaon Sheri), Dr. Ajay Taware, head of the forensic department of Sassoon, Dr. Srihari Halnor, chief medical officer of the emergency department, constable Atul Ghatkamble, Ashpak Makandar, who made financial transactions to exchange the blood samples, Amar Gaikwad, Aditya Avinash Sood (age 52, residing at Bungalow No. 3, Sopanbaug Society, Ghorpadi), who gave his own blood samples in place of the child’s fellow passenger’s blood samples, and Ashish Satish Mittal (age 37, residing at Belvedere Society, Viman Nagar).
Notably, a charge sheet has not yet been filed against Arunkumar Devnath Singh, who asked Ashish Mittal to donate blood. After the charge sheet is filed against him, a joint hearing will take place against all the accused.
In this regard, the advocate, Shishir Hire, special public prosecutor, has said that an application has been filed to frame charges and initiate a case against nine accused, including the parents of the children and a doctor in Sassoon, in the case of swapping the blood samples of a minor and destroying evidence. “We, on behalf of the government, have demanded that a time-bound program be fixed so that this case is disposed of at the earliest,” said Shishir Hire.
Meanwhile, the application filed by the police to declare the accused individual an adult and prosecute him in the Kalyani Nagar accident case will be heard on January 31, 2025. Vishal Agarwal has earlier filed an application to get back his expensive car and his son’s passport seized by the police in the accident case. This application will also be heard on the same day.
