Pune: Crime Branch Unit 2 Cracks Down on Clothing Shops Selling Counterfeit Products; Arrests Three Individuals

In a significant action, the Crime Branch Unit 2 raided the shops selling counterfeit clothes of branded companies and seized goods worth Rs 35 lakh 31 thousand. In this case, the police have booked three individuals from two shops. The action was taken at Incloth Stores and Dinova Cloth in Koregaon Park.
In this regard, the company’s representative, Mahesh Vishnu Kamble (age 42, a resident of Janwadi), has lodged a complaint at Koregaon Park Police Station. Accordingly, the police registered a case against Poma Jitendra Sharma (age 41, a resident of Brahma Suncity, Vadgaon Sheri), manager Sonu Ram Loknadan (age 26), and Monish Leelaram Akatarai (age 33, a resident of Ashoka Building, Green Valley, Wanwadi).
As per the police information, the plaintiff Mahesh Kamble’s company owns the ownership rights and copyrights of Lacoste, Under Armour, Polo, Gant, and Nike clothing brands. A few days ago, the plaintiff received information that counterfeit clothes and other items from these branded companies were being sold in a shop in Koregaon Park.
Accordingly, the team of Crime Branch Unit 2 found that fake clothes and other items that looked similar to these branded companies were being sold using fake labels and logos of branded companies like Lacoste, Under Armour, Polo, Gant, and Nike at Incloth Stores on North Road in Koregaon Park and Dinova Clothes Stores on Main Road.
The police then seized goods worth 35 lakh 31 thousand 51 rupees, including fake T-shirts, hoodies, shirts, bags, and underwear from both these shops. In this regard, a case has been registered against owners of these shops under the Copyright Act at Koregaon Park Police Station.
This action was taken by the team of Police Inspector Pratap Mankar, Assistant Police Inspector Amol Rasal, Police Sub-Inspector Nitin Kamble, Police Ammaldar Shankar Nevase, Amol Sarde, Omkar Kumbhar, Sanjay Abnave, Ganesh Thorat, Hanumant Kamble, Sadhana Tamhane, Pushpendra Chavan, Vijay Pawar, Pramod Kokane, Nikhil Jadhav, and Nagnath Rakh under the guidance of Additional Police Commissioner Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingale, and Assistant Police Commissioner Ganesh Ingle.
