Shiv Sena (BT) clarifies government stand on scrutiny of applications under Ladki Bahin Yojana

Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis interacted with the media after his swearing-in ceremony on Thursday (December 5). When asked to comment on the Ladki Bahin Yojana, he said, “The Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana will continue. We will also give an instalment of Rs 2,100 to women under the scheme. We will consider this while preparing the State Budget. It is possible only after channelising financial sources. We will fulfil the promises made to the people before the elections. We will first prepare a ground for this.
“Many things are being said about a scrutiny of applications under the Ladki Bahin Yojana. We will monitor unqualified beneficiaries and all those about whom complaints have been received. Because PM Narendra Modi launched the Shetkari Samman Yojana. It was realised later that rich farmers also received aid under the scheme. Later, many farmers themselves disclosed that they did not qualify for the scheme. Similarly, if unqualified sisters are found, their applications will be reviewed. But not all applications will be reviewed.”
It is said that applications under the Ladki Bahin Yojana will be scrutinised. After Fadnavis’s statement, it is being said that many applications will be cancelled after the scrutiny. However, the Shiv Sena (BT) has now clarified on this.
Party Spokesman Sanjay Shirsat said, “Devendra Fadnavis said that some beneficiary women’s applications will be scrutinised. It does not mean that qualified women will be dropped. He said that no one should take advantage of the scheme by submitting false documents. This is the objective behind the scrutiny. Those with valid applications and documents will not get affected.”
Deepak Kesarkar’s important statement
The new State Cabinet’s first meeting will take place. A decision may be taken about the Ladki Bahin Yojana in the meeting, said Shiv Sena (BT) MLA Deepak Kesarkar.
