Pimpri-Chinchwad unit of BJP demands ministerial berth
Pimpri: The swearing-in of the Chief Minister and two Deputy Chief Ministers was held on Thursday in Mumbai. Newly-elected MLAs have started meeting party leaders and others for getting ministerial berths.
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Unit of the BJP has demanded a ministerial berth. Local office-bearers have listed their achievements in the State Assembly polls. Moreover, they demanded a ministerial berth, which the city has not got yet.
The office-bearers gave details of their excellent performance at the booth level in the State. Therefore, they want either Shankar Jagtap or Mahesh Landge to be made a minister.
The industrial township has three Assembly segments: Pimpri, Chinchwad and Bhosari. The Maha Yuti candidate got a lead of 76,000 from Chinchwad, 16,000 from Pimpri and 9,000 from Bhosari in the Lok Sabha elections. Under the leadership of Shankar Jagtap, the party’s organisational strength has improved at all levels, which was reflected in the Lok Sabha elections as well as the recent State Assembly polls.
Workers worked hard to get the three Maha Yuti candidates elected. The poll planning was done by the city unit under the leadership of Shankar Jagtap. Therefore, it is the wish of workers that the party leadership should grant a ministerial berth to Pimpri-Chinchwad. This was the stand taken by the BJP office-bearers in the city.
Cabinet expansion to take place before the Winter Session
Addressing the media after his swearing-in, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis indicated that the State Cabinet would be expanded before the Winter Session of the State Legislature in Nagpur, which will start on December 16.
The expansion is likely to take place on December 11-12. Maha Yuti leaders also expected it around the same time. The three main partners are holding meetings with their respective senior leaders ahead of the Cabinet expansion.
