Pune:

In light of the grand procession marking Datta Jayanti at Shri Kshetra Narayanpur in Purandar taluka, the Pune District Collector and District Magistrate, Dr. Suhas Diwase, has issued an order for traffic diversions on the Saswad to Kapurhol road. The diversions, specifically for heavy vehicles, will be in place from 11 p.m. on December 13 to 6 p.m. on December 15, ensuring smooth movement during the massive influx of devotees.

As per the directive, heavy vehicles travelling from Saswad towards the Bangalore highway will be rerouted via Parinche Gaon and Veer Road to Sarola. Alternatively, these vehicles may take the Saswad-Diveghat route to reach Katraj Chowk. Similarly, heavy vehicles heading from Kapurhol towards Saswad will be diverted through Kapurhol, Shindewadi, and Katraj Chowk. However, light vehicles, including cars and jeeps, will be allowed to continue using the Saswad-Kapurhol route without restrictions.

The Datta Jayanti celebration, organised by the Shri Datta Sevekari Mandal, will run from December 13 to 15, drawing thousands of devotees from across Maharashtra and states like Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Rajasthan. Devotees throng to Shri Kshetra Narayanpur for darshan and to participate in the vibrant festivities.

Adding to the pilgrimage, many devotees also visit the Balaji Mandir located in nearby Ketkawale village. Given that both these temples are situated along the Saswad-Kapurhol route, the administration has deemed it essential to divert heavy vehicle traffic to prevent congestion and maintain public order during the yatra.
