Dance teacher sexually abuses two minor students at renowned school in Pune

Pune: The Warje Malwadi Police have arrested a 39-year-old dance teacher from a renowned school in the city for sexually abusing two minor students.

The incident took place on December 9 at the renowned Warje-based school. The dance teacher sexually assaulted the 10-year-old and 11-year-old pupils. A student complained that the teacher was sexually harassing them for the past two years.

The accused has been teaching in the school for the past two years. The Warje Malwadi Police registered two separate offences. The school sent a message to parents on Tuesday (December 17) conveying that the school would remain closed on Wednesday. Many parents gathered outside the school gate.

DCP Sambhaji Kadam said, “Two separate offences have been registered in the matter under the POCSO Act. The school administration reported the incident to the police after learning about it. The dance teacher has been suspended and has been handed over to the police. He has been arrested.”
