Rs 300 crore being spent to build Ayurveda College in Baramati, in final stage; Ajit Pawar surveys work
Malegaon: DyCM Ajit Pawar on Sunday inspected the new building of the Government Ayurveda College at Medad near Baramati.
The construction is in the final stage, for which Rs 325 crore have been spent. Pawar issued instructions to officials about painting and furniture during his visit.
The college was established at Medad in Baramati taluka on July 20, 2021. It has a capacity for 100 students and a 100-bed hospital has also been built on the campus. The contribution made by Ajit Pawar at the government level is being realised.
The campus is spread over 30 acres. The main building and other infrastructural facilities have been built at a cost of Rs 328 crore. Pawar visited the college as it is in the final stages of construction. Pawar inspected painting, furniture works and finalised the land for a crematorium at Medad, said College Dean Dr Anil Kale.
Kale said, “A college and a hospital to impart education in renowned Ayurvedic science has been developed in Baramati. It is an ambitious project at the taluka level. The ancient Indian education would be imparted here. Moreover, effective treatment facilities will be provided to the common people. It will become a lighthouse in the future for providing excellent health services and effective health facilities.”
SDO Vaibhav Navadkar, Tehsildar Ganesh Shinde, senior PWD Officer Atul Chavan, Executive Engineer Amol Pawar, Sarpach Ganesh Kashid, Ajit Kamble and office-bearers were present.
