Pune: Bapusaheb Pathare, along with civic officials, surveys roads in Vadgaon Sheri segment
Pune: Vadgaon Sheri NCP MLA Bapusaheb Pathare on Tuesday morning surveyed roads in his constituency, along with civic officials. He said, “Roads are a major issue in our constituency. They are in a bad shape as they have been neglected for many years. Good roads are a prerequisite for development. I instructed officials to complete certain tasks related to roads during the survey. Problems related to roads and traffic snarls will be solved in the near future.”
Superintending Engineer Sahebrao Dandge, Executive Engineer Sanjay Dharav and junior engineers of the Road Department accompanied Pathare. The inspected roads particularly included the incomplete road near the Nirmala Convent School, the road passing through Chaudhari Vasti, a bridge and a road behind Chaudhari Vasti near the godown, the road near Forest County gate no. 03, the footpath near Forest County gate no. 08, the road at survey no. 56 near the Vegetable Market, etc.
Pathare instructed officials to complete and repair these roads immediately. They responded positively and they, along with a contractor, assured Pathare that the work would be completed within a month or a month-and-a half. If the contractor fails to do it, action would be taken against them. This was clarified by the Executive Engineer.
Later, MLA Pathare visited the PMC and held a discussion with Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Road Department) Aniruddha Pawaskar. Pathare explained the observations made during the survey and told Pawaskar that further action should be taken in this regard.

Four main roads
Around 3-4 lakh citizens commute across Kharadi due to the presence of the IT Park. Traffic snarls are witnessed as the roads have a narrow carriage width. The four main roads need to be completed to cater to future needs of more IT companies and their employees. After completion of these four roads, congestion in Kharadi and on Pune-Ahmednagar Road will be addressed.
