Individual Assaulted with Hoe Stick for Secretly Eating Mutton Without Friends, Complaint at Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station

A shocking incident has come to light from the Katraj area of Pune, where an individual was assaulted with a hoe stick over the dispute of eating mutton before friends. This incident took place behind the Nepal Baba temple in Katraj at around 7 p.m. in the evening on December 31.
In this regard, Ningesh Eknath Mhetre (age 23, a resident of Bibvewadi) has lodged a complaint at Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against Dhammapal Hanmant Sonawane (age 21, a resident of Anjani Nagar, Katraj).
As per the police information, the plaintiff and the accused are drivers by profession. On the night of the New Year celebration on December 31, the plaintiff, the accused, and the other drivers organised a mutton party for dinner. While the mutton was cooking on the earthen stove, the plaintiff, Ningesh Mhetre, secretly ate a few pieces of it.
On that reason, the accused, Dhammapal Sonawane, got angry with Ningesh and started abusing and arguing with him. As the argument escalated between them, the accused assaulted the plaintiff with a hoe stick and injured him severely.
A complaint has been registered in this regard at Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station, and the Assistant Police Faujdar Akhute is investigating further.
