Recently, the cases of robbing and looting people who are going for a walk in the Baner, Pashan Tekdi, Hanuman Tekdi, and Vetal Tekdi areas have increased. While the incident of a young woman being sexually assaulted at Bopdev Ghat at night was fresh, another shocking incident took place at Hanuman Tekdi, where a couple was robbed at machete point in the afternoon hours.

The incident took place on January 4 at 2 p.m. near the Open Gym on Hanuman Tekdi. A 17-year-old girl from Khadki Bazar has filed a complaint at the Deccan Police Station in this regard. Accordingly, the police have registered a case of forced theft against an unknown accused.

According to the information given by the police, the complainant girl had gone for an afternoon walk on Hanuman Tekdi with her friend. When they came near the open gym on the Tekdi, the thief threatened her with a machete and assaulted her with his hands. The accused further forcibly stole a 20-gram gold chain worth Rs 1 lakh from her neck.

After learning about the incident, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sainath Thombre, Senior Police Inspector Girisha Nimbalkar, and Crime Inspector Prasad Raut visited the spot and took detailed information about the incident. Police Sub-Inspector Sawant is investigating further in this case.
