Renowned IT firm woman employee heading towards Mahabaleshwar dies in accident on Nira river bridge, her colleague injured seriously
Pune: A 24-year-old woman employee from a renowned IT company from the city died while her male colleague suffered serious injuries when a speeding truck hit their two-wheeler near a bridge on the Nira river near Shindewadi on Mumbai-Bengaluru National Highway.
The deceased has been identified as Rubel Sinha. She, along with her three male colleagues, was heading towards Mahabaleshwar on two-wheelers when the heavy vehicle (PB069995) hit her vehicle (MH01DJ8365).
Sinha fell off the vehicle on the road when a truck trailing her vehicle ran over the victim. She died on the spot while her colleague was taken to a private hospital in Shirwal. PI Sandeep Jagtap attached to Shirwal Police Station, Vilas Yadav, policemen Arvind Barale and Bhausaheb Dighe rushed to the spot. They decongested a traffic snarl caused after the accident and took the injured to hospital. An offence was registered against the truck driver. The police were investigating further.
