Illegal Gas Cylinder Selling Racket Busted in Pune; Accused Apprehended by Sinhagad Road Police

The police have taken strong action against an individual who was collecting domestic gas cylinder tanks from various places and selling them in the black market. In the subsequent action, the Sinhagad Road police have arrested a man named Vikas Dhondappa Aakale (age 31, a resident of Charwad Wasti, Vadgaon Budruk, and an original resident of Dongargaon, Taluka Mangalwedha, currently residing in Riddhi Siddhi Building, Sinhagad College, Vadgaon Budruk).
A few days ago, members of the investigation team at Sinhagad Road Police Station, Police Amaldar Sagar Shedge and Amol Patil, received a tip-off through a special informant that a person was illegally selling domestic gas cylinders in an open field on the side of the road leading to Datta Mandir in Nivrutti Nagar. Immediately, they reported this news to Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Nikam.
After confirming the news, senior officers ordered them to take urgent action in this regard. Accordingly, the police team went to the spot and inspected it. As expected, they found a tempo standing in an open field, and a person named Vikas Aakale was seen stockpiling and selling gas cylinder tanks from the tempo.
In a subsequent action, the police seized a total of 61 domestic-use gas tanks of Bharat Gas Company and one tempo worth Rs 4 lakh 9 thousand from Aakale. Police informed that Vikas Aakale was buying gas cylinder tanks from different distributors and selling them to small, home-based traders at double the price.
This action has been taken by the team of Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Nikam, Police Sub-Inspector Santosh Bhandwalkar, Aba Uttekar, Police Amaldar Sanjay Shinde, Anna Kekan, Uttam Taru, Pankaj Deshmukh, Deva Chavan, Amol Patil, Vikas Pandole, Shivaji Kshirsagar, Rahul Olekar, Swapnil Magar, Vinayak Mohite, and Vikas Bandal under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Pravin Kumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ajay Parmar, Senior Police Inspector of Sinhagad Road Police Station Dilip Daigade, and Police Inspector Crime Uttam Bhajnawale.
