Pune:
A shocking incident has come to light from Baramati, where a father strangled his 9-year-old son to death out of anger over his son not studying. The accused father brutally struck his son against a wall and killed him by strangling.
In this regard, the police have registered a case against the accused father, Vijay Ganesh Bhandalkar; Shalan Vijay Bhandalkar; and Santosh Somnath Bhandalkar (all residents of Hol village, Taluka Baramati, District Pune). The deceased boy has been identified as Piyush Vijay Bhandalkar (age 9).
According to the information received, on January 14, around 2:30 p.m., the accused father, Vijay Bhandalkar, scolded his son, Piyush, for not paying enough attention to studying. Meanwhile, his anger increased, and the accused threw his minor son against the wall in a fit of anger. Further, he killed his son by strangling him.
Shockingly, during the whole incident, the father’s mother, Shalan Bhandalkar, was present in the house, but she did not make any attempt to stop her husband. On the contrary, she gave a false statement to the police that her son died of fainting on the saying of her husband, Vijay Bhandalkar.
After the incident, Santosh Bhandalkar took the child to doctor near Nira village. There too, they falsely said that the child died of fainting. After checking there, the doctor declared Piyush dead and asked his parents to take him to the nearby primary health centre.
However, the accused took Piyush’s dead body to their village instead of going to the primary health centre. Further, in order to hide the actual reason behind Piyush’s death, they started preparations for Piyush’s funeral without informing the Police Patil or any other officer.
As soon as the police received information about the incident, a case of murder and destruction of evidence was registered against all the accused. Further investigation in this case is being conducted by Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Rahul Sable.
