Pune: Notorious Gangster Pappu Yenpure Finally Arrested by Police After Two-Year Manhunt in Baramati

In a significant action, a notorious gangster and a leader of a criminal gang, Pappu Yenpure, who had been evading police arrest for the past two years, has finally been apprehended by Pune police. After meticulous tracing and investigation, the police finally detained Yenpure near Nira Wagaj village in Baramati, where he had come to meet his family and relatives.

The full name of the accused is Pappu, alias Praveen Ananta Yenpure, and he is a resident of Ambegaon Khurd. Pappu Yenpure has been committing serious crimes in an organised manner since 2016. According to the police information, he used to take help from different accomplices while committing each crime. Further, as he was not using any mobile phone and also was not active on social media, it was difficult for police to trace him.

There were multiple serious crimes, such as preparation for robbery, forced theft, attempted murder, possession of deadly weapons, and terror, that were registered against Pappu Yenpure’s gang. Therefore, the then Additional Commissioner of Police, Dr. Sanjay Shinde, had taken MCOCA action against Pappu Yenpure’s gang in August 2021. Last year, in January 2024, Additional Commissioner of Police Pravin Kumar Patil had again taken an MCOCA action against Pappu Yenpure’s gang for the second time.

However, Pappu Yenpure successfully evaded the police arrest and remained at large. Many police officers tried to detain Pappu Yenpure. To catch him, the Bharati University police laid multiple traps from time to time, but he was not found.

But this time, the investigation team of Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station started a fresh search operation for Yenpure. Meanwhile, searching for him, police Amaldar Mangesh Pawar, Mahesh Baravkar, Sachin Gade, and Abhinay Chaudhari received reliable news that Pappu Yenpure had come to Nira Wagaj in Baramati to meet his relatives. After that, the officers of the investigation team immediately went there and arrested Pappu Yenpure. He was handed over to Assistant Police Commissioner Rahul Aware for further action.

This action has been taken by the team of Additional Police Commissioner Pravin Kumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartana Patil, Assistant Police Commissioner Rahul Aware, Senior Police Inspector D.S. Patil of Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station, Crime Inspector Sangeeta Devkate, Rahulkumar Khilare, Police Sub-Inspector Nilesh Mokashi, Police Amaldar Mahesh Baravkar, Mangesh Pawar, Sachin Gade, Abhinay Chaudhari, Sachin Sarpale, Chetan Gore, Mitesh Chormole, Sagar Borge, and Nilesh Khairmode.
