Pune: In an indicator to unemployed youths in the country, thousands of engineers stood in a 1-km queue in front of an IT company for an interview in the city. A video clip of the scenario immediately went viral on social media.

The IT sector is seen as a well-paying field. But thousands of anxious faces of job seekers were a telltale sign of the employment sector.

The IT company was conducting interviews for 200 seats, claimed a post on social media. However, 3,000 engineers turned up for the interview.

Chief Spokesman Atul Londhe shared the video clip on social media targeting the government.

Londhe, in his post, said, “Pune, Maharashtra. An IT company published an advertisement for 200 seats. Thousands of engineers lined up in front of its gate. Jobs are needed in New India.”

Youths’ dreams have shattered: Congress

The Congress said, “Take a look at the viral video and guess the condition of the youth in the country. A company announces 100 vacancies and thousands queue up. This shows that unemployment has reached its peak in the country and the youth are troubled. The Modi government makes a false claim about employment. But the clip shows the reality. Two youths end their lives every hour due to unemployment. As many as 83 pc unemployed are youths. They are forced to migrate to war-torn countries such as Russia and Israel in search of jobs. Youths’ dreams are shattering due to wrong policies of the Modi government. They are struggling for small things. Narendra Modi is not worried about the youth’s future. He is only worried about himself and his rich friends.”
