Delivery Boy Accused of Raping 22-Year-Old Woman in Pune; Police Launch Massive Manhunt

Pune: A shocking incident has come to light from Pune’s Kondhwa area where a 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a delivery boy who gained access to her flat under the pretext of delivering a parcel.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5), Rajkumar Shinde, confirmed that an offence has been registered under sections 64, 77, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Kondhwa Police Station.
According to the police, the incident took place around 7:30 pm on Tuesday. The accused, posing as a delivery executive carrying a bank envelope, visited the victim’s residence. When the woman went inside her home to retrieve a PIN required for the courier, the accused followed her, shut the door, and allegedly raped her.
The woman was reportedly found unconscious after the incident. Forensic experts were called to the scene to investigate if any sedative or chemical had been used to incapacitate her. Police are also examining a selfie discovered on the woman’s phone, which could provide crucial leads.
DCP Shinde further stated that 10 teams five from the Crime Branch and five from zonal units have been deployed to crack the case and track down the accused.
