On November 13 at around 7 PM, the duo arrived at the Vilas Petroleum petrol pump in Gunjan Chowk on a motorcycle. They broke the queue and forcefully demanded petrol first, and when employee Ganesh Bharate (35) resisted, they began assaulting him with kicks and punches. One of them even attacked him with a weapon, injuring his back and right arm, and threatened to kill him.

Under instructions from DCP Somay Munde, the Yerawada police launched an immediate search. During investigation, constables received information that the suspects were hiding near the Kalyaninagar riverbed. A police team then reached the spot, kept surveillance, and successfully detained both accused.
