Pune: Man sending obscene photos and videos to harass woman arrested by Shivajinagar Police after tracing location
Pune: A man who repeatedly called a young woman, tried to force friendship, and sent obscene and explicit videos–photos to her mobile phone has been arrested by the Shivajinagar Police. The accused was traced through technical investigation and taken into custody.
The arrested man has been identified as Akshay Hanuman Kafare (31), resident of Agar Hapus Bagh, Gol Ghumat, Junnar.
A 21-year-old woman from the Shivajinagar area had filed a complaint. The incident took place on November 16 around 9:30 PM.
According to the police, the accused was persistently calling the woman without her consent and harassing her to befriend him. He further sent obscene videos, photos and text messages causing mental distress and embarrassment. Initially, the victim ignored his behavior, but when the harassment continued, she approached the police. The police then traced his location and arrested the Junnar-based “road romeo.”
The case is being investigated by Police Inspector Dhananjay Pingale.
