Pune: Notorious Tipu Pathan Booked Under MCOCA Again in Pune; 25 Serious Cases Already Registered
Notorious gangster Rizwan alias Tipu Pathan, who has been terrorising the areas of Hadapsar, Sayyednagar and Kalepadal in Pune, has once again been booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has approved the action. Pathan already faces 25 serious cases including murder, attempt to murder, extortion and intimidation.
According to police, Pathan and his associates illegally took possession of a plot in Sayyednagar, erected a shed, leased it out and extorted money. When the complainant demanded the land back, Pathan allegedly demanded ₹25 lakh and threatened to kill him.
The Kalepadal Police submitted the MCOCA proposal, which was verified by senior officers and approved by the Commissioner.
Residents were reportedly afraid to file complaints due to his dominance and terror.
