Pune: In a significant ruling, the High Court has stayed the suspension of the liquor license of 2BHK Diner & Key Club and directed the state excise department to de-seal the premises, allowing the establishment to resume operations immediately.

The order came in a writ petition filed by Dr. Heramb Shelke, challenging the excise department’s action. Appearing for the petitioner, Pralhad Paranjape argued that the authorities had acted in a high-handed manner. The suspension had earlier led to a 15-day closure.

Reacting to the decision, Shelke said, “Law and order prevails,” adding that the ruling reinforces the principle that no entity is above the law. The court’s decision also sets an important precedent on accountability and proportionality in regulatory actions by state departments.

Dr. Heramb Shelke, Brand Owner of 2BHK Diner & Key Club, expressed gratitude for the support from patrons and the judiciary during the period of suspension. The establishment said it looks forward to continuing service to the community and contributing to the city’s vibrant dining scene.
