The new showroom was inaugurated recently by Rajya Sabha MP Prof Dr Medha Kulkarni. Founder Nirupa Tayade, her mother Vandana Wajare, Akhil Bharatiya Chitrapat Mahamandal president Meghraj Rajebhosale, Esham Tayade, Dilip Khaire, Dhiraj Wajare, Ganesh Doke, Mahesh Gaikwad, Yogita Gaikwad, Tushar Khaire, Sarang Magar, Vaishali Doke and Rohit Doke were among those present.

Kulkarni appreciated the craftsmanship and designs of the sarees displayed at the showroom and highlighted the importance of supporting traditional handloom artisans.

“Encouraging local artisans through such initiatives is commendable. The Centre has been consistently working towards strengthening the handloom sector and supporting traditional craftsmen. Saree weaving is an art deeply associated with Indian women and our cultural heritage. Efforts are also being made to provide space at railway stations for textile outlets and the sale of locally made handicraft products,” Kulkarni said.

She added that such initiatives could help preserve traditional art forms and livelihoods while ensuring that these skills are passed on to future generations.

Tayade said the Pune showroom offers an extensive collection of authentic Yeola Paithani and silk sarees. The collection ranges from handloom sarees priced at around Rs 2,000 to premium pieces costing up to Rs 7 lakh.

“Along with traditional Yeola Paithani, the collection includes Banarasi, silk, and Patola sarees. Customers can also choose from sarees featuring intricate Zardozi and pearl work. This is our first outlet in Pune, and we are excited to bring the traditional craftsmanship of Yeola to the city,” Tayde said.

Actor Prajakta Mali is the brand ambassador of Nirupa’s. The brand also gained visibility internationally when Mali wore a Nirupa’s saree on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.
